Taryn Chase Jackson remembers the humiliation of being teased about her brown suede Hush Puppy shoes in first grade. But instead of succumbing to peer pressure, she chose to take up finding and wearing unique shoes as a hobby. She has an MFA in Creative Nonfiction from Goucher College and lives in Asheville, NC, with her husband, two dogs, a bunny, and her shoe collection.
